George Washington School Children, Edgewater NJ 1930's
These kids were in Ger's class. I don't remember the girl' name. Billy Leary is the boy on the left. He lived directly behind us at 31 Glenwood Ave. His Dad was the town's judge. The teacher is Mrs. Mc Gary. I had her too. This picture was taken in front of the George Washington School. The store on the left is Frannies. We would but soda, ice cream and candy there. You could buy bubble gum with a baseball card for a penny.
Ernie Therkorn far Right

Ger is on the far right. Two girls to the left is Margaret Hoffman, Ger's best friend.

The building in the background with the fancy stuff on the peak, is one of three Edgewater firehouses. I had a job as a fireman when I got out of the Navy. I worked nights while I was going to school. I spent many nights in this firehouse GRB
